The homecoming parade's float contest is one event that literally pays off.

The SGA-sponsored contest will award $200 to the best float and $100 to the runner-up.

Any community member may participate. Contest entries are due to Barb Martinez, head cheer and dance coach, by Sept. 27.

Ryan Ruda, SGA co-sponsor, said "floats will be judged on their display of school spirit and their tie-in with the theme, "Victory Through Heroes".

Judges include Carol Ballantyne, GCCC president; Mark Jarmer, GCCC instructor; Doyle McGraw, athletic super circuit director; and Jessica Garcia, SGA president.

All floats must be brought to the 3-I building by 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 5.

For more information, contact Barb Martinez, 276-0462, or Colin Lamb, 275-3243.
