SEASON RECORD: 34-9
The Lady Busters are working on consistency as they prepare for the last two regular season games before they head to the region VI District playoffs, Nov. 3.
Stormi Harvey, Lubbock, Texas, will give the Lady Busters some enthusiasm going into the playoffs. Harvey is ranked number two in the Nation for assists.
"We are going to center our offense around her," Sanders said. "We should have good passes, and if Stormi passes the ball well, we have a chance to beat anyone."
The Independence Tournament, Oct. 11-12, helped prepare the women for the playoffs.
The Lady Busters competed against The University of Arkansas in Fort Smith. U of A Fort Smith is ranked number nine in the country. The Busters lost to the Lions 1-2.
"Although some games were frustrating, we competed against the sixth [at the time] team in the country," Jeff Sanders, head coach, said.
Cynthia Ohanaja, Houston, had positive thoughts on the Independence game.
"We did well," Ohanaja said. "We came out with a few wins, and we came out with a few losses. I'm disappointed about the losses, but it happens."
The Busters competed against Seward, Oct. 23. Results of that match is on the Silhouette online. Before this match, Sanders had some goals for the women.
"I want us to win," Sanders said. "It will be tough because they're playing well right now."
The last home competition for the Lady Busters is against Clarendon College at 6:30 p.m.
The women will also compete in two more matches against Seminole, Oct. 28, and Dodge City, Oct. 30, before heading to the region VI playoffs, Nov. 3.
"[At playoffs] I hope we can continue to do well," Ohanaja said. "I hope our consistency level stays up."
