SGA typically holds only one casino night in the spring semester.
However, some students expressed concern that those who graduate in December will not have the chance to enjoy this event one last time before they leave GCCC.
"Everybody said that casino night was the best event last year," Kay Jay Harris, Tampa, Fla., said. "So what about the people who graduate in December? I thought we should have another casino night before [December], so they could still go."
With student concerns in mind, SGA is sponsoring another casino night for students to enjoy, Ryan Ruda, SGA co-sponsor, said. Admission for the event is free to all students, but they must have their student IDs in order to get in. Snacks and beverages will be provided for the students at no cost.
According to Ruda, blackjack, craps and roulette will be available at the casino night and students will have the opportunity to use their winnings to bid on prizes ranging from gift certificates to coupons from area businesses.
According to Colin Lamb, SGA co-sponsor, approximately 120 students attended last year's spring casino night.
"Students really seem to enjoy casino night," Lamb said. "I think the students like that they can win without even digging into their own pockets. Last year's casino night was a real success and we hope this year's will be even better."
