The Garden City Broncbuster football team traveled to Coffeyville, Oct. 27, to take on the Coffeyville Red Ravens. The winner was to go on and play Butler County in the Conference Championship Game.

Unfortunately, the Busters lost that game ending with a regular season record of 8-3. With the depleted amount of bowl games taking place this season, some fans were thinking the Busters lost their chance at a bowl game.

Since the loss, the Busters have been going through some drills to try and stay sharp on the chance they were to be invited to a bowl game.

"After the loss to Coffeyville, there was about two weeks where we weren't certain what was going to happen," Brian Hill, offensive coordinator, said.

But on Monday the Busters accepted an invitation to play in the Valley of the Sun Bowl in Glendale, Arizona against the Glendale Community College Gauchos, Dec. 7. The Busters were also invited to the Red River Bowl in Texas.

"This will be the ninth consecutive year that we have been to a bowl game," Hill said.

This will be the third consecutive year that the Busters will be playing in Valley of the Sun Bowl. Amariah Farrow, offensive lineman, said he looks forward to competing in the bowl game and feels confidant that the busters will do well.

This will be Farrow's first trip to Arizona after being a red shirt on last year's team.

"I've never been to Arizona and it seems like it would be a lot of fun and hopefully we can come out with a victory," Farrow said.

"With only eight Bowl games in all junior college football this year, it makes being one of the final 16 teams an honor, but at the same time with our record, it makes it a grueling process; it makes us feel like we should have taken care of some things during the regular season," Hill said.. The game will be on Dec. 7 in Glendale Arizona.
