Busters compete at 'All-Comers' in Houston

Jacob, Moore lead the way to success at Houston track competition

Johnny Jacob, Houston, once again proved he could be a successful sprinter, as he placed second in the 400-meter dash in front of his home crowd at the University of Houston "All-Comers" meet, Feb. 15.

The meet was declared an "All-Comers" meet because everybody was welcome to participate in the events, not just the registered athletes.

Jacob placed second out of the 92 men with a time of 48.65 seconds.

LaDonna Moore, Austin, Texas, did her fair share on the track as well as the field. Moore placed third out of 12 participants in the triple jump, jumping 12.18 feet. Moore also placed 12th out of 29 in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.3 seconds.

Tyree Gailes, Abiline, Texas, placed sixth out of 118 in the mens 60-meter dash with a time of 6.8 seconds.

Also placing sixth for the Busters was Virgil Brock, San Antonio, Texas, in the high jump. He defeated 29 other participants, jumping 6-5.

Ashley Johnson, Houston, placed in the top 10 in the 200-meter dash as well as the 400-meter dash. Johnson placed seventh out of 79 women in the 200-meter dash running the race in 25.6 seconds. Johnson placed ninth out of 49 in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.65 seconds.

Keithan Raglon, Humble, Texas, placed eighth out of 89 in the 200-meter dash with a time of

22.32 seconds.
