The opening of the Beth Tedrow Student Center will give intramurals a new place, when they start the new year off with a 10 point pitch tournament Jan. 29.
"We're really going to try to use the student center," Beau Tatro, Intramurals coordinator said. "My goal is to get students over there and to use it on a regular basis."
The pitch tournament will begin at 8:30 p.m. in the student center. Tatro said students can check in right beside the snack bar area.
According to Tatro, being involved in intramurals is a way to meet new people and to become better acquainted with friends.
"They [students] can meet new people," Tatro said. "A little competition is very healthy in terms of mental and social health. Sometimes you don't really know a person until you play against them."
