"I drew a football, GCCC, #1 and even butterflies, the same ones I use for nail art," said Vy Nguyen, Garden City. "Even fans from Dodge got their faces painted with DCCC."
Shealyn Green, Garden City, said painting faces has helped give the cosmetology department some recognition. Green said it was also fun meeting new people.
"This one little girl asked if I could draw Shrek on her face," Green said.
Melanie Tims, Garden City, said they raised $59 during the Dodge City game and are setting up their booth during Saturday's game against Cisco.
Sheena Baker, Garden City, said they charge $1.25 per tattoo, $2 for two tattoos, and 50 cents per cheek for face painting. The tattoos are of Broncbusters and American flags.
"We also sent people into the stands with the tattoos and some face paint," Baker said. "One boy already had his face painted from the zoo, but he came to us for a tiger face, too."
The students also provide regular salon services to the public in the Penka building. Services range from haircuts, color to pedicures and facials.
"We offer free manicures to faculty and staff," said Pati Pfenninger, director, "And students and staff can receive 10 percent off of anything except retail products by showing their ID's."
