Three students were arrested Saturday night in connection with a fight in the parking lot behind the residence hall.

Garden City police Capt. Mike Utz said officers received a call from campus security reporting a large fight in process at 11:42 p.m. Campus security reported 30-40 people were involved.

Torre Johnson, 19, 302 College, #5; William Walker, 20, 611 Campus Drive, #319; and Edward Morris, 20, 302 College, #6 were all arrested and lodged for suspicion of unlawful assembly and disorderly conduct.

Morris, Wichita, was a member of the 2003-2004 men's basketball team. Johnson, Milwaukee, is on the 2004-2005 men's basketball roster. Walker is from Cincinnati.

Dean of Student Services Beth Tedrow said the incident is still under investigation.

"Disiplinary action has been taken and we believe there should be no further problems," Tedrow said. "If further incidents occur there will be zero tolerance."

The Garden City Telegram reported a total of nine law enforcement officers from the Garden City Police Department, the Finney County Sheriff's Office and the Kansas Highway Patrol responded. Utz said Emergency Medical Services personnel

responded as well. Utz was not able to state if anyone involved sought medical treatment.

College policy is to follow the student code of conduct and athletic code of conduct for any disciplinary procedures. These procedures are included in the College's Student Handbook. Disciplinary actions could

include dismissal from residence halls or college.
