Development Center to host free workshop

The GCCC Small Business Development Center will host two free tax workshops for people who own businesses or are contractors.
The first workshop will be conducted for business owners from 1 to 4 p.m. June 7 in the Endowment Room of the Beth Tedrow Student Center. An evening session will run from 6 to 8 p.m. for contractors.
The second workshop will be Thursday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to noon for business owners at the Civic Center VIP Room in Dodge City, linked with an afternoon session from 1 to 3 p.m. for contractors.
Ron Grant of the Kansas Department of Revenue will cover information about the Kansas streamlined sales tax, state tax laws, tax identification numbers and exemptions. Grant will also discuss withholding tax, plus sales and consumer use taxes.
