Congratulations, you have just won $25! To pick up your winnings please visit the Residential Life Office and take your ID. An agreement between Chartwell's, a division of the Compass Group that provides foodservices on campus, and the college made it possible for students to begin using their college identification cards like debit cards in the cafeteria and snack bar.

"We talked with Chartwells so that students can put money on their card," Dee Wigner, dean of administrative services, said.

It's not always possible for students to eat during the set cafeteria hours, so college administrators negotiated with Chartwell's and Buster Bucks were devised. Now students can purchase chips, candy, beverages, or a full meal, at the Bistro located at the west entrance the Beth Tedrow Student Center.

"We brainstormed, and with the Bistro being the least used vendor on campus, we thought it would be a good idea," David Rhoden, Chartwell's director of food services, said. "We brought all the energy drinks in last semester, like Sobe and others, candy bars, and little snacks, carrying the same prices, if not lower, than common stores. We plan to have some specials during the year, for example with having a different pizza than at the cafeteria, we plan to have students eat at the Bistro instead of Pizza Hut."

Wigner said students that have purchased any sort of meal plan be it a 15 meal or 10 meal plan receive $25 automatically on their ID. Other people can start adding money to their IDs by talking with Lisa Myers, Office Manager to get a form to fill out. Buster Bucks are available to all students, staff, and faculty, anyone who owns an ID.

"Residents must use the $25 or they will lose it, they must spend down to zero," Wigner said.

"The Buster Bucks are designed more for off-campus students, but anyone can use them. The Buster Bucks end at each semester, and with a purchased meal plan, the student will receive another $25 as before."
