Spanish course for retail sales available

The Garden City Community College Business and Industry Institute is offering a four-week course for retail sales employees to help them better assist Spanish-speaking customers.
The class will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Oct. 3 on the GCCC campus.
Participants will learn how to greet customers, express and receive dollar amounts, cash checks, assist customers with the purchase of groceries, convenience store items, gasoline and other goods. No prior Spanish experience is needed.
The instructor, Dr. Conce Magana, has taught English and Spanish for 28 years. He earned his doctorate from the University of Kansas, his master of arts from the University of New Mexico and his bachelor of arts from Fort Hays State University.
The course will cost $125. Registration and information are available from the CECS Office, located in the Student, Community Services Center, 620-276-9647 or cecs@gcccks.edu.
