Saturday's home opener against Dodge City kicks off with a tailgate party from 5-6:30 p.m. The cost is $3 per person.
Vic Trilli, athletic director, says the BAA will be serving up their famous hot dogs and hamburgers, and businesses such as Pizza Hut, Planks Barbecue, Pepsi, and Chartwell's will have booths set up. Along with food and refreshments, the Fulton Street Band, headed by John Calbeck, director of the Southwest Kansas Regional Prevention Center, will provide entertainment.
Throughout the football game, 550 footballs autographed by head coach J.J. Eckert will be given away to kids. Trilli said if a kid brings his or her ball back to the Sept. 23 homecoming game, the football players will sign it afterward. T-Shirts will also be given away by the National Guard.
