Applications available for All-USA scholarship

Students have an opportunity to be one of two selected by college officials to represent Garden City Community College as members of the All-USA Community College Academic Team.
Students who complete an application have a chance at gaining national recognition in USA Today as well as receiving scholarships worth up to $2,000.
To qualify, students must have at least a 3.25 GPA and must be on track to earn an associate's or bachelor's degree. Also, students must have not been previously nominated and must have a college record showing no suspensions, probation, or serious disciplinary action. Deadline to submit applications is Nov. 8.
The program recognizes 60 students each year. The students are divided into first, second, and third teams consisting of 20 each.
Students who apply and are also a member of Phi Theta Kappa are eligible for the Guistwhite Scholarship. To qualify for the scholarship, students must complete a one-page Guistwhite supplement application.
Applications can be obtained from the Academic Office complex, the Student and Community Services Center, and the Saffell Library Comprehensive Learning Center.
