Upon the return from winter break, students were provided with a new service to ensure convenience and divulgence.
All GCCC students now have access to his or her own personal Broncbuster e-mail account.
"I had one for my school I was at last year and it's a tool that will allow you to contact your teachers when you need to," Travis Ward, Penelton, Ore., said. "Plus, you will be able to get all kinds of updates in your e-mail."
The service provided to students, similar to the employee e-mail system, is to help with communication throughout campus, according to Dane Hernandez, e-mail administrator and student activities coordinator.
"I believe it will help greatly [with communication]," Hernandez said. "With myself as an activities coordinator, it is one more way for me to advertise events and to reach out to the students easier."
The provided accounts are permanent and do not expire.
"This is a lifetime account," Hernandez said. "We will be able to contact our alumni easier."
A link on the Garden City Community College homepage will direct users to his or her account. To establish a GCCC student e-mail account, contact Dane Hernandez, 620-275-9474; Jenni Evans, 620-275-9654; or Mary Wilson, 620-275-9411.
